As my addiction to highlighters continues, there has been one particular product that has pretty much swept the beauty market by storm. Totally crept up on everybody and now its a firm staple – its the Mary-Lou Manizer, by theBalm cosmetics. (See what they did there?…Lou-manizer – Luminizer! #ILikeit)
The product itself is a honey-coloured powder which is used in the same way as the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. Read my review here. The reason I love this luminzer is its ability to be subtle. It’s not a mesh of colours or indeed glitter, but it feels like the glow is hidden inside the product. I love things hidden inside things (mainly, chocolate hidden inside chocolate muffins, but you get the picture). You can use it as sparingly or as concentrated as you like.
The compact also has a great size mirror and is so slim that it wont take up much room in the makeup bag. Bonus!
I love to use it by giving my fluffy face brush a sweep before dipping it into my face powder. Again, it gives a subtle but healthy glow to the face. The product can then be used more concentrated just below the temples and above the cheekbone, the bridge of the nose and the cupids bow.
The Mary-Lou Manizer is the first product I have used from theBalm cosmetics. The company itself was born from Marissa Shipman who wanted some easy products to make gals look and feel glam. She bought books on how make makeup, essentially and went hell for leather in her kitchen, hired a Chemist and came up with a fabulous array of blushers, glosses and everything else. All their products are animal cruelty and paraben free #HighKick!
By the looks of the website….I am going to have a lot more treats in my makeup bag (trunk, at this stage) for 2015. Can’t wait.
Love, P x
