This week, I had 2 random and very spontaneous (mini) shopping hauls. Whilst waiting for a lift home from the dentist..sniff!..I popped into Penneys in Dun Laoghaire for a quick scoot. I was then in Dundrum Town Centre shopping for a birthday present for a friend, and I indulged in a little “Boots” and “McCabes Pharmacy” stock up. Despite it not being pay day yet, Im not even sorry! Lol.
I have broken down my purchases into a few varieties – for ease of review. Make-up First!
Rimmel Lasting Finish Skin Perfecting Foundation (The White Lidded One!) – €11.99 – Boots
So, I obviously had to wait for this to NOT be on sale before I buy it (duh!) but anyway, Im totally glad I did. It comes in 8 shades and the colour I got was “100 – Ivory” which is a pretty perfect for me. I find that you don’t necessarily need to powder over this and it apples very evenly. It’s a medium coverage and not too matte. The smell is so old school so it brings back so many memories! I love memory smells. This may replace my mix of Revlon Colour Stay and No. 7 Lift and Luminate (which is shamazing and so glowy).
Max Factor Creme Puff Blush – €11.49 – Boots
After seeing how the gorgeous Karen from Lovely Girlie Bits fell in love with these blushes, I had to get them. Her pictures where stunning. However, when I got to Boots, they only had 2 shades left…and even then I only found them when I rummaged in the drawers at the bottom of the stand. Yes, I am that person! This product comes in 6 shades, all of which look devine. They are baked pigments and can be used to highlight and sculpt. It’s packaging is small but there is a lot in it so its great for the oul makeup bag The two shades I managed to get were “05 Lovely Pink” and “10 Nude Mauve” Lovely pink is so light and highlighty so it would be fab with a light coverage foundation. The Nude Mauve on the other hand is amazing. It’s a darker, rosy but not too brown colour that gives a fab wash of natural colour on the cheeks without looking too done up! Perfection.
Max Factor Colour Elixir Gloss – €11.49 – Boots
Boots as ever had their 3 for 2 offer on so I browed around to see what else took my fancy. It would have been rude not to I am not a huge fan of lipstick – it just looks so weird on me – but I do love a glossy lip. I picked up this Max Factor Colour Elixir Gloss in “45 – Luxurious Berry” and this smells gorge! I initially went into Boots to pick up the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker lipgloss but no lie, I could not get past the disgusting smell. This gloss comes in 9 shades and Luxurious Berry is a complete dupe for Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in “Lilac Rose” so, yes please!
I have grouped most of these together as they are less of a review on them and more of a “Oh I need that!”
Ted Baker Pencil Case Cosmetic Bag – €3.50 (was €14.00!) – Boots
I needed a small bag to put my brushes to stop them squishing in my makeup bag. Then I spotted this and thought, “Well this is a no brainer”. A perfect size and for the cost, I couldn’t refuse! #HappyDays
Sponge Applicators – €1.00 – Penneys
I actually use these for applying my nail polish ombre style as they are so much better than regular sponges. They tend to hold a lot more polish and soak less up
Scunci Head Wrap – €4.99 – McCabes Pharmacy
You can never have too many headbands! Great for cleaning your face and putting on your makeup. The cute hearts just made it better
Loving all my purchases and they didn’t actually cost a bomb! Makes the shopping haul that little bit sweeter
Love P, x
