Sunday after dinner is the best time to go for a walk and living in such a great part of Dublin, I have a lot of places on my doorstep! We decided to walk the East Pier and grab an ice-cream on the way at Scrumdiddly’s which is an amazing ice-cream parlour where they have over 2,400 combinations of yummy dairy desserts. It’s says so on the wall!
The only downside of this place is the 40 minute queue. No joke. But its worth it! We agreed upon a Scrummy Mess for Heidi, which is whipped ice-cream, crumbled meringue, fresh strawberries and one topping (we got 2!). I decided on a good old fashioned mint-chocolate chip ice-cream in a cone (with a flake!). The cost of both was €6.00…so good!
Then this happened…..
I’m not gonna lie…I may have cried a little. It was soooo big and tasty. All I could do was laugh But I couldn’t go back and wait in the queue again….so I’ll pencil trip number 2 for later in the week
We then took a ramble down the pier. In the right weather and especially at dusk, Dun Laoghaire pier is a beautiful. The colours are amazing and there are so many people doing their “after-dinner walk” it’s so friendly It also forms part of my ways to have a good night sleep so the physical exercise is a bonus!
You can see all the way over to Dalkey.
Because we waited quite a bit for ice-cream, we walked about a third of the way down and came back. It was getting slightly chilly. Growing up so close to Dun Laoghaire, walking the pier is like a right of passage. So many happy memories <3
If you get the chance, give it a visit….if only for the view and ice-cream!
Love, P x
A walk in Dun Laoghaire....almost!
